Marco Carletto, was born in Premosello (VB) on 3/10/1961.
He lives and works on the hills of Verbania in Miazzina.
He graduated from the Istituto Alberghiero (Hotel Institute) E. Maggia in Stresa, in the years in which this school was renowned for the rigorous discipline which he treasures by applying it to life and Art.
In 2006 he joined the artistic group “Associazione Amici dell’Arte” (“Friends of Art Association”). In 2007 he was selected by the art critic Giulio Martinoli to participate in the edition of “Arte in Provincia nuove proposte”, held at the cultural center “la Fabbrica” in Villadossola. In 2009 he was invited by the “La Macchia” association as part of a meeting with the artist for an evening dedicated to him that aroused much interest. In 2009 he passes a strict selection and becomes part of the artistic group “circolo degli artisti società delle belle arti (circle of artists society of fine arts)” of FLORENCE which is based on the CASA DI DANTE (House of Dante) museum. In his artistic career he avails himself of the precious collaboration of art critics Antonio and Monica Arena. Marco Carletto begins to approach painting in a completely casual way, one evening while watching a television auction of Art he is captured by paintings from the optical – kinetic vein. Having said that, he begins to paint and become interested in the artists of this vein, such as Victor Vasarely, Horacio Garcia Rossi, Francesco Biasi and then again Gioppé Di Bella. In particular, the latter is most impressed and still proudly follows his footsteps. Observing Carletto’s works, one can realize how with the precision of the surgeon, he cuts, dissects and selects the parts of the canvas by knotting it and shaping its shape.
This effect is obtained by using the double canvas, that is, the one that will serve as a background to emphasize that patient play of the color effect, inducing the viewer to look at the work from different angles, thus changing the optical perception. In other works, it can be seen how the cuts are very convincing and of refined workmanship, in which the predilection for exact and peculiar geometries, the contrast of the colors and the harmonic traction of the parallel tapes in which the canvas is meticulously restored, merge into the circular metamorphosis of forms that contract and unfold.
With these and other works of his, the artist presents his true appearance, highlighting his own random character and emerging from the uniformity of the space that surrounds him.
It can be concluded by saying that Marco Carletto’s artistic career is marked by a varied and personalized research in the field of optical-kinetic art, thus ranking himself among the most interesting exponents of this artistic vein. His works can be found in Italy and abroad and in the collection of the singer-songwriter Antonello Venditti, since 2008 he has collaborated with the Studio d’Arte Lanza in Verbania.
